Björk

Design / Jens Landberg Schrøder

Björk, the subtle star of our collection, is hand-knotted in New Zealand wool using the Sumak technique, a traditional craft with roots in regions like Turkey and Iran. This knotting method creates a knit-like texture while preserving the robust qualities of a flatwoven rug.
By blending raw, natural fibres with carded yarn, we’ve crafted a unique interplay of colour, shine, texture, and durability—bringing together the best of both worlds. This perfect balanced design is the result of years of meticulous testing and development. Björk is quiet, and elegantly understated, revealing more of its refined character over time.

We always recommend to use an underlay with your rug

As most of our rugs are unique and hand-made, the size can vary slightly from the ordered size (+/-4%). Irregularities in size, colour and weaving are characteristics of hand-made rugs.

Care & Maintenance

Daily cleaning: Vacuum your rug as needed. Never vacuum your rug with the brushes of your vacuum cleaner nozzle in the extended position. You can also give your rug a gentle shake outside. Do not beat your rug.

Spot cleaning, only woolen rugs: Spots, spills and dirt should be removed in two steps immediately after the spill to avoid a stain.
1. Blot, never rub, the area with a soft cloth, paper towel or napkin to soak up as much of the liquid as possible.
2. Dab the spot very gently with a damp cloth soaked in carbonated water.

More thorough cleaning: We recommend professional cleaning. Please note, that we cannot guarantee that all stains can be completely removed.
